Introducing…The $1,000,000 NFL Chase for the Crown!

You’re invited to flex your fantasy muscles, and play in the DraftKings $1,000,000 Chase for the Crown!  Our goal was to develop the Premier Fantasy Football Tournament Program in all of Fantasy Sports, and the huge prize pools will not come up short!  Here’s what the program is all about, and how you can cash in huge this NFL season!

WHAT IS THE “CHASE”?

DraftKings’ $1 Million Dollar Chase for the Crown is an exclusive Weekly Fantasy Football Tournament Program running during the 2012-2013 NFL season, with over $1,000,000 in Guaranteed Cash Payouts, plus a trip to the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans on the line.  It consists of several tournaments running each week of the NFL season.  DraftKings is guaranteeing total prize pools of well over $1,000,000 in the Chase Events.

The Featured Event of the Chase is a $250,000 Guaranteed Main Event in NFL Week 16, where one player will turn their $200 entry fee into a huge, $100,000 top prize.  200 total players will cash in the event, which is capped at 1400 entries.  You can enter into this contest as many times as you want to maximize your chances of winning $100,000 top prize.

You don’t need $200 to play in the Main Event.  Sure, you can buy in directly to all Chase events including the $250,000 Main Event.  But for the big ones, you can also win an entry ticket through our low cost qualifiers.  Cash qualifiers start at just $11.  DraftKings is also running weekly super-qualifiers as well, where we guarantee a large # of entries to the top finishers.

In addition to the Main Event, there will be 5 (five) $50,000 Guaranteed Prize events throughout the season, each carrying a $10,000 top prize to the winner.  The first $50,000 Guaranteed Event is in WEEK 1, and has an entry fee of just $10.  The other $50,000 Guaranteed Events are running in Weeks 5, 8, 11, and the week of the Championship Round in the Playoffs.

IS THERE A TOURNAMENT LEADERBOARD WITH PRIZES?

YES!  The Chase Leaderboard will reward players who perform well in Chase for the Crown events.  You’ll earn Leaderboard Points every time you finish in the top 50% of the field.  The bigger the field, the bigger the buy in, and the better you finish - the more points you earn.

The overall top performer in the Chase for the Crown will win an all-expenses paid trip to the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans ($10,000 value)!  The remaining Top 10 finishers on the Final Chase Leaderboard will win cash prizes as well, totaling $5,000.  Each week, we will also crown a Weekly Leaderboard winner, who will receive $500 cash.

OK I’M IN.  WHAT CHASE EVENTS ARE RUNNING WEEK 1?

Each week DraftKings will have a line-up of Chase for the Crown Tournaments.  Chase Events are marked in the DraftKings lobby with a “C” icon.  All tournaments are One Week in length with payouts happening immediately after the NFL week concludes.  In Week 1, the following events are “Chase” events:

NFL Early Bird (Wednesday Start) [$5,000 Guaranteed] ($25 Entry Fee)

DraftKings has launched new roster management tools! Many of these features were requested by our users. Some of the highlights are viewing a roster from the My Contests page, exporting teams to other contests, mass replacing a single player across all of your teams, and quickly swapping out one player for another in a given contest. We will walk you through these new features in detail here on Tumblr.

When you click the Multi-Team Edit Button, it pulls a list of all players you might want to mass replace.  Great for last minute line-up changes if a player gets benched right before a contest starts!

After selecting a player to mass replace, you then select whom to swap in.  You get to choose anyone of equal or lesser salary.  If you want to make bigger lineup changes than that, you can use the edit team / export team feature instead.  This is good for a last minute, quick fix.

Now, onto the manage roster button.  You can view your full team from here without going to the “Edit” screen now!  The Edit Full Team button works the same way as the previous “Edit Team” function - it will redirect you to the Draft Team page to make any changes you want to that individual team’s roster.  So we will focus on the new piece, which is the “Export Team” feature.

Jamie Moyer Lays Coiled In Wait

Said Moyer

“I’m not retired, I’m not retired. I’m just kind of laying in the weeds and just trying to figure out what’s going on.”

I like to imagine that Moyer is truly laying in weeds, covered in leaves and camoflauge, studying the working habits of some GM, waiting for the right time to strike with an offer of his services.
